By Football Itlia staff The Giuseppina Rossi of Fiorence Preggio’s ‘delights’ to see his team win the first leg of their Champions League tie with Udinese was more than satisfied with his team’s performance, after their team-mate’s injury.
The Roma midfielder, who scored a stunning goal in the 2-1 win over Udinese in Rome on Saturday, described his team as ‘breathtaking’ after the result.
“I think we deserved to win and we had a lot of positives to look forward to,” Rossi said.
“I’m delighted for the fans, it’s a great game and it’s been a great experience.”
Rossi scored a sensational equaliser for Fiorencia at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday after a long and physical game, but the striker’s side were unable to take the lead after half-time.
“The players’ character was amazing.
It’s a blessing for us,” Fioressio told reporters.”
We have to be more aggressive in front of goal.
I think we did well today and the referee made the right call.”
Olimpica keeper Giorgio Zaccarino was then shown a second yellow card for the hosts, which led to the dismissal of defender Giusepio Della Serra.
The result is the second in a row for Udinese, who beat Napoli 2-0 on Tuesday, after they were eliminated in the group stages of the competition last season.
Della Serre, who had to be substituted, had a shot saved by Lorenzo Cattaneo with a header from a corner that struck the post.
